Bed bugs are small insects active at night and feeding on human blood. They can infest homes and are best adapted to human environment. Adult bedbugs are 4-5 mm (1/8th – 3/16th of an inch) in length, oval, flattened and reddish-brown or purple, wingless with microscopic hairs and well developed antennae on their heads. Newly hatched insects are translucent and pale. Not difficult, since bedbugs do not move very quickly, cannot fly and live in groups. During the daytime, the insects hide in bed frames, tiny crevices, wood holes and mattress seams.

PREPARATION PRIOR TO TREATMENT:

(a)Gas Treatment:

Bed bugs are one of the hardest insects to treat and get rid off; the Treatment will only work if the preparation has been done in correct way. The whole rooms which will be treated must be closed and to be airtight properly. All the wardrobes and drawers must be left open and the clothes and bedding left in the rooms. Try to make sure that there is access to all skirting boards by moving the furniture within 10-20 cm from the walls. Do not remove any objects into other rooms as you may spread the infestation.The toxic gas is released in the room which has to be sealed for 24 hours. You will have to leave the property for at least 24 hours during the treatment.
After 24 hours, once the door is opened the gas is exhausted. All bedding and clothes must be washed after this process and you can reintroduce them to the rooms.

(b)Spray Treatment:

The infested and surrounding areas will be treated with the latest insecticides recommended for the purpose and will be PCA of India approved for its use.
